Real stories, when they're real
We're a new and growing community, so we won't invent couples for a webpage. Here's the honest version instead: what finding someone here can actually look like — and an open door for you to share your own story once it begins.
The best part of dating somewhere built for disabled people is the bit that usually goes unspoken. You start talking to someone and there's no flinch, no twenty questions, no deciding whether to mention your disability before they'll meet you for a coffee. That part is already behind you, so you can get on with the actual point — working out whether you like each other.
What people find here isn't one single thing. For some it's a partner; for others it's a steady companion, a first relationship after an injury or illness, or simply good company and easier conversation. Some move quickly, some take months, and both are completely fine. There's no leaderboard and no pressure — just a calmer place to meet people who already understand the part most have to explain.
When you're dating after a long time away, after an acquired disability, or after one too many awkward experiences on the big apps, that ease makes all the difference. It isn't magic and it isn't a promise — it's simply a fairer place to start than most.
What we can share, while the first stories are still being written, is what the beginnings tend to look like — because we see those every week. They look like a first message about a shared boxset rather than a condition. A reply that comes two days later with an apology about a rough week, met with "honestly, same" instead of silence. A fortnight of easy messages, then a phone call, then a coffee somewhere step-free that neither person had to explain the choice of. Unremarkable, from the outside. That is rather the point — for a lot of our members, unremarkable is the thing dating has never been allowed to be.
And some beginnings will not become romances at all. They will become the friend who texts on hospital days, the companion for Sunday phone calls, the person who simply gets it. We think those count too, and when members tell us about them, they will belong on this page just as much as the weddings will.
